Large Cutting Board
The commission for this project was a simple one. The client wanted a striped hardwood cutting board measuring 600mm x 400mm x 40mm.
The reference picure we were given showed only two types of wood, but after discussion, we were given a bit of free reign.
We ended up using three types of Australian Hardwoods, Spotted Gum, Black Butt and Jarrah.
It was only after we had put together a design that the client told us the story about why they needed a new cutting board.
This board is replacing one that was made by the client’s father who has now passed away. Their daughter is moving into her first home with her partner, and the client is gifting her the original board so that she has something handmade by her Grandfather.
