This walking stick was commissioned as a walking and balancing aide. The stick is part of the root ball and trunk from a Westringia bush from our front yard.

We decided to keep the root ball as with only a little bit of cleaning it was a very comfortable fit in the hand.

We stabilised it with penetrating epoxy and then filled in further gaps with purple resin before applying a polyurethane finish for added protection. Finally we added a rubber stopper on the foot to prevent slipping.
